Job Description:
The Registrar is responsible for the administration of the University’s Office of the Registrar and ensures that the activities therein are in support the goals of KCU. The Registrar supervises/oversees the processing of student registration, grading, the storage and maintenance of student academic records, and, in collaborative conjunction with IT, the management of the student information system and its various integrations and reporting functionalities. The Registrar works in tandem with the various University curriculum committees to reviews degree programs and has the primary responsibility for determining the eligibility for graduation of all students. The Registrar works closely with faculty, staff, and administrators and ensures compliance with established University, association-level, accrediting bodies, and federal policies and guidelines regarding records, enrollment, and classification of students.

Essential Duties:
  • Directs the day-to-day management of the department
  • Manages overall processes of student academic records
  • Ensures proper and timely response and exchange of information
  • Oversees and/or controls the production of various student related university publications
  • Administers academic university policies and ensures compliance with governmental and/or regulatory entities
  • Serves as the Chair for the University Calendar Committee
  • Attends and advises at various University curriculum committees
  • Represent department and the University favorably and in accordance with established Core Values and expectations
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the organization
  • Work independently and in collaboration with the University community

Supportive Functions
  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
  • Actively participate in team and University meetings

Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Student Services, Educational Administration, or related degree
  • Doctorate degree preferred (equivalent experience may be substituted for education)
  • Five to seven years of experience in a leadership position in records retention or academic student services required
  • Five years supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of student academic records in accordance to federal and state regulations and University policy
  • Proven ability to lead staff to optimal levels of productivity
  • Ability to analyze a situation, provide one-on-one feedback, and effectively handle and resolve problems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Keenly attentive to detail
  • Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
  • Hands-on knowledge/skill of database programs, PCs, and networks
